Petunia

Petunia is a genus of plant which is very popular for garden use. The plant has soft leaf and stem. Its trumpet-shaped flowers have a variety of colors, including purple, red, pink, yellow, white and so on. Some kinds of flowers are decorated with stripe or dots. Petunia has a rather long period of flowering time from April to October, being an optimal choice for garden planting. 
Petunia needs a warm and sunny environment. It is not resistant to frost or water-flooding. Its suitable growth temperature is around 13℃ to 18℃, and will stop growing when temperature is below 4℃. The plant has a tolerance to high temperature above 35℃. In summer, Petunia grows fast and needs sufficient water. It is recommended to water twice a day to keep the basin soil moist. Remember to use loose and well drained sandy loam to prevent water-logging. 
When sowing, add some water to keep seeds wet. The seed cannot be buried too deep in the soil, otherwise its germination will be affected. The medium temperature can be kept around 22 ℃to 24℃, and the seedlings will germinate in 4 to 7 days. At this stage, we should keep ventilation to prevent disease. The plant needs a few days of shade after transplant, while it can generally thrive under direct sunlight during the whole growing period. You can add some fertilizer with high nitrogen and relative low phosphorus to help growth.
