Peperomia caperata

Peperomia Caperata, also known as emerald ripple peperomia, is an evergreen herb originated in tropical area. This plant has a strong ability to purify dust and absorb formaldehyde from the air. Being suitable to be planted at home, It can also help to increase air humidity. Caperata has beautiful heart-shaped leaves with cyan stripe. It will grow cream-colored flower in spring and autumn. It  can be decorated on desk or balcony, giving people a warm feeling. 
Caperata is adapt to hot and semi-shade environment. It grows well in fertile and acidic soil. The plant is not resistant to drought, freezing, or direct sun light. It can be propagated by cutting during May to June. You can directly cut a mature leaf and insert it in a moist medium maintaining 70%-90% humidity. The survival rate will be very high after rooting. You can also add some plant hormone to help the growth. It is also recommended to choose a 3-4cm branch with several leaves for cutting. Keep the room temperature around 18-24℃, and new root will grow out in 20 days after insertion. 
When raised indoor, Caperata grows fast. You may cut the overlapping leaves to ensure enough nutrition. In winter, you can put it to sunny place, and keep the pot soil slightly dry. In spring, you may change the pot and divide part of the root system.
