Kalanchoe luciae, commonly known as Paddle plant, is a fleshy herb native to Africa. It is an important ornamental plant. Its leaves are oval, opposite and born on the stem. It looks like a rose. Its leaves are light green, the surface is covered with a layer of white powder, and there is a layer of red lines on the edge of the leaves. When it grows outdoors with plenty of sunshine, it will form gradual red spots on the leaf edges in cold seasons. Its leaf shape and color are very beautiful and have high ornamental value. It is very suitable as a potted plant and placed on the desk or windowsill to beautify the environment.

It likes light but is not heat-resistant. It grows weakly or even stops growing at high temperature in summer. At this time, it needs to be maintained in a ventilated and cool place and cannot be watered too much. It has certain cold resistance. It can withstand the low temperature of 3-5 ℃ in the sunny environment in winter. It needs to be watered frequently in the spring and autumn growing season. Fertilizer should be applied every ten days. It is best not to touch the leaves when watering and fertilizing, so as to prevent washing off the white powder on the leaf surface and affecting the ornamental effect. It likes fertile sandy loam with good drainage. It has strong vitality and can reproduce through leaves in the growing season.
