One of the key rules we have implemented is to disallow the reselling of fresh imports before they have been properly acclimated.

Freshly imported plants undergo a great deal of stress during their long journeys, which often leaves them weak and tired. To ensure that these plants are in optimal health before being sold on PlantStory, we require sellers to acclimate their imported plants for a minimum of 6 weeks. This period allows the plants to recover from the stress of transport and adapt to their new environment.

Acclimation is an essential responsibility of the sellers, as our buyers typically consist of beginner plant parents who may not possess the knowledge or experience to properly acclimate their new plants. By taking on this responsibility, sellers not only improve the quality of the plants they sell but also enhance the overall experience for our customers.

The acclimation process generally takes between 6 to 8 weeks, during which time the plants regain their strength and establish themselves in their new environment. Once this period has passed, the plants are considered safe for sale and shipping. This timeframe helps to ensure that the plants sold on PlantStory are healthy, resilient, and prepared to thrive in their new homes.

Selling plants before they have been acclimated for at least 6 weeks compromises the health and well-being of the plants, and it negatively impacts the customer experience. As a result, sellers who violate this rule will face a ban from our platform. We take this rule seriously to maintain the high standards of our marketplace and to protect the interests of our valued customers.
